A Classic day at the Beach

Dressing like a class act for beach or pool days can be a fun, refreshing and creative way to add a touch of elegance to your summer wardrobe. It can also be a bit frustrating or intimidating as to how to dress properly for the location, not to mention temperature without being uncomfortable. Here are some tips on how to achieve a sophisticated poolside or beach day look without looking like you put too much effort into it.

Choose high-quality swimwear: Opt for a well-fitting, high-quality swimsuit or bikini that flatters your body shape. A one-piece swimsuit or a high-waisted bikini can create a classic and flattering look. A perfectly fit swimsuit will demand less adjustments and will give you more confidence so you can, I don’t know - relax at the beach, God forbid?

Cover up with a stylish cover-up like an oversized Donna Button Down or breezy linen sarong, colorful kaftan or tunic. Any of these looks will add an elegant touch to your day at the beach. Be sure to look for lightweight materials like cotton, linen, or chiffon that will keep you cool and comfortable in the heat. Sweaty isn’t chic.

Accessorize with statement pieces: Choose a few statement accessories like a wide-brimmed hat, oversized sunglasses - because crows feet aren’t at the top of our list either,  or a natural fiber beach bag like wicker or cane to add some personality to your look. Simplicity and understated pieces are key to achieve an elegant swim look. We love a good espadrille and high quality sandals. If you even think high heels are even semi-okay for a pool day - you're asking to get pushed in the pool.
