We are looking for a talented and experienced freelance Tech Designer to join our team and bring our designs to life with accurate, detailed tech packs and fit expertise.

Job Description:
As a Freelance Tech Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed tech packs for our knitwear and tailored woven collections, ensuring that our designs are produced to the highest standards. You will work closely with our design and production teams, translating design concepts into clear, actionable specifications. You must be highly proficient in measurements, garment fit, and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tech Pack Creation: Develop comprehensive tech packs for knitwear and tailored woven garments, including construction details, material specifications, trims, colorways, and size charts.
  • Tech Pack Maintenance: Maintain tech packs throughout fit and design process to make sure our suppliers and factories have the most up to date/correct specs and details. 
  • Fit & Measurements: Ensure that garment fits are accurate and aligned with brand standards. Collaborate with pattern makers and garment technicians to confirm garment proportions and fit.
  • Fabric & Trim Sourcing: Provide technical recommendations and specifications for fabrics and trims, working closely with fabric suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Size & Fit Consultation: Work with design and production teams to address any fit issues, including pattern alterations and grading.
  • Communication with Factories: Ensure that tech packs are clear and actionable for factories and production teams, helping to address any issues that arise during production.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all garments meet the brand’s quality standards through technical checks at each stage of production.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Tech Designer, specifically with knitwear and tailored woven garments.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed tech packs and working with pattern makers.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric types, and trimming details.
  • Expertise in sizing, fit, and grading, with an understanding of various body types and size ranges.
  • Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Illustrator, and a strong grasp of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical details to both design and production teams.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with 3D garment visualization software (e.g., Clo3D) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with sustainable and ethical production practices.
